Just a quick post to show you the workings behind my latest picture.
This is kind of a practice piece, but I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I wanted to brush up (pun intended) on my loose painting, generally, I'm very controlled and detail-oriented when I paint. So I tried to fling the paint around a bit with this one, I mainly used a flat chisel brush for it, to get the blockiness I was after.
The other thing I want to do is overpaint with colour, but I can't work out if I should just leave this or experiment again. The problem is I'm happier with this than I expected to be so I don't want to chance ruining it!!
If anyone fancies the original before I overpaint it, I guess that makes the decision for me!
What do you reckon, experiment or leave??
